The 73.5 metre superyacht Mogambo has been spotted cruising the Norwegian Fjords after completing an extensive refit project at Feadship.
The Nobiskrug-built yacht spent eight months at Feadship’s De Vries Makkum shipyard in the Netherlands before departing and heading north at the beginning of June. She dropped anchor in Bergen on June 10 and spent some time exploring the Nærøyfjorden area before heading further north to the mountainous region of Geiranger-Herdalen Landskapsvernområde.
During her stint at Feadship, work included a completely fresh paint job for her exterior as well as a renewal of her interiors, including the modernisation of crew areas and major upgrades to navigation equipment and AV/IT systems on board. The refit also included a re-conditioning of the yacht’s propulsion installations, doors and hatches, the blasting and painting of the underwatership and a revamp of the chilled water installation.
Mogambo was first delivered by German builder Nobiskrug in 2012 and checked into the Feadship facilities in October 2021 for her refit work. She has had the same North American owner since launch and is named after the 1953 film starring Clark Gable, Ava Gardner, and Grace Kelly.
Penned inside and out by Reymond Langton Design, Mogambo is constructed in steel and aluminium and is characterised by a two-tone silver and white superstructure, with a raked bow and modern lines. Her 1,698 GT interiors can accommodate up to 12 guests and 17 members of crew.
Each of her decks features al fresco entertaining spaces, including a hot tub on the top deck and a swimming platform at the stern for direct access to the water. The MCA-compliant superyacht is powered by twin MTU engines providing 4,720hp and a top speed of 17 knots.
Mogambo is the fourth largest yacht ever launched by Nobiskrug; other yachts in the fleet include the award-winning 80 metre Artefact.
